Desk Relief

Updates

What's new

We're always improving Desk Relief. Every update is listed here with its date, so you can see what's changed and what we're working on next.

  1. Version 1.2

    30 Oct 2026

    Added

    Added
    • Ambient Piano: A new calm sound of soft, slow piano to settle into. It's in a new Ambience group in the music picker.
    • Works fully offline: Add Desk Relief to your home screen and it saves everything it needs, including routines, breathing, the body map, images and music. After that it works on a plane, in a basement meeting room, or anywhere without signal.
    • A friendly "getting ready" bar: The first time you open the home screen app, a small bar shows the offline download, then tells you when it's ready to use offline.

    Improved

    Improved
    • Music on iPhone is lighter on memory, so long sessions stay smooth and clear.
    • Switching quickly between sounds is now clean, with no overlap.

    Fixed

    Fixed
    • The home screen app sometimes said it needed internet when you were offline. It now opens straight away.
    • Background music now plays offline, with no greyed out tracks.
    • If a sound didn't load the first time, tapping it again now retries.

    Improved

    Improved
    • The breathing guide tone is now a warm, steady hum, which is easier to follow with your eyes closed.
    • Adding Desk Relief to your home screen on Android and Samsung phones is cleaner, with a proper app icon and a short tip for Samsung.
    • Pages load faster on phones.
    • Old links now take you to the right page.
    • The numbers on the About page now match the rest of the app.
    • Extra behind the scenes protection to keep the site safe.

Known issues

We know about these and they're on the list.

  • Hand and body drawings: The body map drawings work well, but some, especially the hand, could look nicer. We're retouching them.
  • First load on slower phones: The home page can take a moment longer than we'd like on slower connections. We're making it lighter.
  • Readability: Some light grey text could stand out more. We're improving contrast so everything is easy to read.
  • Updates on installed apps: Your home screen app can take a few hours to pick up a new version. We're making updates arrive sooner.
